About hot rolled

About hot rolled

Compared with cold rolling, hot rolling is rolling below the crystallization temperature, and hot rolling is rolling above the crystallization temperature.

Also known as hot plate, hot rolled plate. The hot-rolled slab is made of continuous casting slab or pre-rolled slab as raw material, which is heated in a stepping heating furnace, descaled by high-pressure water, and then enters the rough rolling mill. The rough rolling material enters the finishing mill for computer control after cutting head and tail. After rolling, after final rolling, it is cooled by laminar flow (computer-controlled cooling speed, and coiled into straight coils by coiler.

 Advantage

(1) Hot rolling can significantly reduce energy consumption and reduce costs. During hot rolling, the metal has high plasticity and low deformation resistance, which greatly reduces the energy consumption of metal deformation.

(2) Hot rolling can improve the processing properties of metals and alloys. Even if the as-cast coarse grains are broken, the cracks are obviously healed, the casting defects are reduced or eliminated, and the as-cast structure is transformed into a deformed structure, which improves the processing performance of the alloy.

(3) Hot rolling usually adopts large steel ingots and large rolling reduction ratios, which not only improves production efficiency, but also creates conditions for increasing rolling speed and realizing the continuity and automation of the rolling process.

Classification

Hot rolled steel plate is divided into structural steel, low carbon steel and welding bottle steel. Hot rolled steel sheet has low hardness, easy processing and good ductility. Hot-rolled steel sheets have relatively low strength and poor surface quality (low oxidation/finish finish), but good plasticity. Generally, they are medium and heavy plates and cold-rolled plates with high strength, high hardness and high surface finish. They are generally thin plates and can be used as stamping plates.

Dimensions

The size of the steel plate should meet the requirements of the table “Dimensions and Specifications of Hot-Rolled Steel Plates (extracted from GB/T709-2006)”.

The width of the steel plate can also be any size of 50mm or a multiple of 10mm, and the length of the steel plate can be any size of 100mm or a multiple of 50mm, but the minimum length of the steel plate with a thickness less than or equal to the thickness is equal to 4mm and not less than 1.2m, and the thickness is greater than 4mm. The minimum length of the steel plate is not less than 2m. According to the requirements, the thickness of the steel plate is less than 30mm, and the thickness interval can be 0.5mm. According to needs, after negotiation between the supplier and the buyer, other specifications of steel plates and steel strips can be supplied.
